Dr. Shuping Xiong has been recognized with “2013 Outstanding Teaching and E-education Award”! The award ceremony took place on March 17 in the Office of the President. Special thanks to our students for strong support & trust and colleagues for kind help and good suggestions.
Dr. Xiong was invited to join the Editorial Board of Journal of Physiological Anthropology (JPA, SCI Journal), he will serve as the Editorial Board Member (as Handling Editor) since 2014. JPA has published since 1983, the journal aims to publish research on the physiological functions of modern mankind, with an emphasis on the bio-cultural effects on human adaptability to current environments. All articles published in JPA are included in Science Citation Index, Scopus, and DOAJ, MEDLINE, PubMed, PubMed Central. More details about the journal are available via: http://www.jphysiolanthropol.com/.
Dr. Shuping Xiong
(as the corresponding author), together with his collaborators and students in China recently published a paper entitled ‘Horizontal cooperation and information sharing between suppliers in the manufacturer-supplier triad’ in International Journal of Production Research (IJPR). IJPR is a well-established and high-quality journal in the field of Industrial Engineering (IE) reporting production and manufacturing research. This paper is now online published and the full text can be accessed through DOI: 10.1080/00207543.2013.869630.
Dr. Shuping Xiong was invited to attend the 14th China Ergonomics and Management Conference in Shanghai, China (Nov 9th-11th 2013), he delivered a keynote speech on biomechanical effects of high heels on human balance. For full details, follow the link: http://me.sjtu.edu.cn/News/showDetail.aspx?tid=1476.
Dr. Xiong invited Prof. Zhang DG (the winner of the Delsys Prize in 2011) from Institute of Robotics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China) for a talk on EMG applications for prosthesis and rehabilitation. The seminar took place in TD room at DHE school on Sept 23 (1:00-2:00pm) and more than 40 students and professors attended the seminar.
Our lab organized an internal workshop to report our recent experimental studies on postural and biomechanical effects of high heels as well as the mid-term progress review on a NRF funded project. The workshop took place in TD room at DHE school on August 27th (10:00am-14:00pm).
Dr. Shuping Xiong has been promoted to associate professor. Sincere thanks and appreciation in supporting my teaching and research go to UNIST/DHE faculty, staff, and my students.
Two journal papers of our lab have been recently published in Applied Ergonomics and Ergonomics, the top journals in the area of human factors and ergonomics. They are A model for the perception of surface pressure on human foot by Xiong S, Goonetilleke RS, Rodrigo AS, and Zhao J., Load distribution to minimize pressure related pain on foot – A model by Rodrigo AS, Goonetilleke RS, and Xiong S.
Welcome to our new master student: Yohana Siswandari, comes from Indonesia. Yohana completed her B.S. in Industrial Engineering at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).
Also welcome to our two new lab research assistants, Taeyoung Kim and Woojoo Kim, who are senior and junior students at UNIST!
Reliability and validity of the parameters for assessing human static balance ability by Hai Qiu and Shuping Xiong has won the 8th Chinese Ergonomics Society (CES) Symposium (Nov 29-Dec 2, 2012) Best Paper Award. This year’s CES conference is held in Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Congratulations!
