Human Factors and Performance Lab is a multi-disciplinary research unit dedicated to developing novel ergonomic methodologies and solutions for human-centered design of products, jobs and systems for better safety, health, comfort and human performance. Particular interests are concerned with digital human modeling, biomechanics and their applications into body-fitted products such as footwear. Our current research focuses on (1) human balance, fall risk assessment and fall prevention, (2) comprehension and design of safety signs, (3) sports biomechanics and its application in sports equipment innovation, (4) human performance analysis and modeling.
Our team is working on or has completed many research projects funded by different funding agencies, which include not only government research funding agencies such as National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Ministry of Education (MOE) and Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (STCSM), but also industry partners such as Samsung Electronics, Michelin China, Jiangnan Shipyard Group Ltd. etc.
